About me

I am a Helsinki-based photographer, videographer, and visual content creator with a career that spans over three decades. Since embarking on my professional journey in 1989, my passion for capturing the world through a lens has only deepened.
For me, street photography has never been about the camera. It’s about seeing: noticing the small, fleeting moments where light, people, and place line up into something that feels true. My work explores the philosophy, history, and craft behind that way of seeing, and I try to share it in a way that helps others find their own voice instead of copying mine.
On my YouTube channel, nearly 93,000 photographers join me to talk about what makes an image matter. I also run in-person and online workshops, publish my own zines, and wrote Street Photography: From Snapshots to Stories, a book about moving beyond single frames toward photographs with meaning. I also run a very lively community on the Skool platform. If you are interested in getting feedback and discussing all aspects of photography, the community might be for you.
If you’re here, you probably feel the same pull I do: to walk, to look, and to make something honest out of ordinary life.
